The approach

A look is built from the skin outward. Undertone first, then structure, then the finish the day asks for — a room lit by evening lamps and a midday ceremony are not the same brief.

Nothing is applied by formula. What holds up in the photographs should still read as skin in the mirror at the end of the night.

Undertone read in daylight before anything is chosen, so the base disappears into the skin instead of sitting on top of it.

Definition placed to follow the face that is there, rather than a shape borrowed from a reference photograph.

Bridal functions, engagement functions and pre-wedding shoots are among the occasions Oviya works for. Traditional bridal is one of the five look directions — and like the others, the look is decided with you: your features, your jewellery, your saree or lehenga.

Hair styling and saree draping can be planned into the same look, by the same artist.
