Seventeen, eighteen. Watching.
What started as simply watching tutorials slowly became a passion.
My love for makeup started when I was around 17–18 years old. I was inspired by the work of Vithya Visvendra, whose makeup content I followed on YouTube and Instagram.

Tutorials, practice, family.
I began practising makeup on myself, and eventually started doing makeup for my sister, my mother and my friends.
For nearly three years, I taught myself through YouTube videos, tutorials and constant practice.

Workshops and teachers.
I also attended makeup workshops and learned from several talented artists, including Indian makeup artist Aarti Balaji, and international makeup artist Suji, from France, with whom I completed my professional makeup certification.

Pleating and draping.
My journey with sarees grew alongside my love for makeup. I trained in saree pleating and draping with AK Saree Pleating, Jaffna, and also learned from Tivijan, an international saree drapist from Malaysia.

Friends, neighbours, family.
Before it became a business, I was simply doing what I loved.
I started doing makeup for my friends, neighbours and family — sometimes completely free of charge — because I genuinely enjoyed seeing the transformation and making people feel beautiful.
It was actually my friends and family who encouraged me to turn my passion into a business. Their constant support and belief in my work gave me the confidence to take that step.
What began with a small makeup kit and a lot of passion has slowly grown into Beauty Canvas by Ov, where I now offer makeup, hairstyling, saree draping and saree pleating services for different occasions.

I believe every skin tone is beautiful.
Whether you have fair, medium, brown or deep skin, your natural beauty deserves to be celebrated — never hidden.
For me, makeup isn't about changing the way you look or making you look like someone else. It is about enhancing the features you already have, and helping you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself.
I especially love working with deeper and brown skin tones, because I believe there is so much beauty, warmth and richness in every shade.
07What I want for my clients.
I don't want you to look in the mirror and feel like you've become a completely different person. I want you to see yourself — just enhanced, polished and confident.
Your comfort, preferences and personality matter to me. Whether you want a minimal natural look, soft glam, traditional bridal makeup, a bold transformation or something completely unique, I believe your makeup should reflect you.
